Care

Advanced Care is a name many people will already be familiar with. Our original company Advanced Care (East Yorkshire) incorporated in 2000, operated as a family business, which grew to 150 staff by 2008. We became well known for providing experienced well trained Care Staff specialising in care for the elderly and working for the local authorities as well as private individuals. We then diversified for 2 years delivering training to the industry winning a high profile National award along the way and training for the largest Care provider in Britain. We diversified again and had a year assisting with the running of a Learning disability charity. The original family partnership John and Anne Wood and their daughter Sheena Kurring have now reformed and Sheena became the Registered Manager of Advanced Care Yorkshire. This mantle has now passed to David Swinney RN who has a wealth of background and knowledge this information is available on our about us page. As before the family team are in support to provide Childcare, elderly care and support for people with physical and learning disabilities. We have a full in house and external training capability to ensure our staff and others who pass through our door are trained to the highest standards (We support and encourage all students to train to a minimum of Diploma at level 2.

We support our Individual’s in a "person centred way". Our "ethos" is always to meet people's individual needs and to ensure everyone experiences a quality of life led by their own wishes, needs, choices and aspirations also allowing each individual to be in control of their desired outcomes.

We pride ourselves on our knowledge of the industry gained over 40 years. Based on this we offer a personalised service that. We believe, is second to none. From our first point of contact we endeavour to focus on the requirements and needs of the individual and their support network, which may be family, friends and carers.

After initial contact we meet with the Individuals to listen, learn and discuss what is important, this is then turned into a person centre support plan. All paperwork is designed and completed together, with our Managers, to ensure that the individual Individual has the maximum input in how their service is tailored specifically for them.

From the company and staff we demand, honesty, reliability and Integrity, we recognise that understanding the Individuals needs are key. Our Individuals come first. During training the company’s views are explained to our staff to ensure they show Respect, Treat Users with Dignity, Respect users Privacy and above all always offer choice.

For our Users we support creativity and independence we focus on ability and ambition with a positive approach, we aim to promote inclusion and empowerment, ensuring safety so we can support our Individuals to retain and have greater control over their lives
